30 and Loveless! Or am I?

I found myself watching the best movie in life, sex and the city the first one of course and shedding a few tears towards the end. At first confused about why these droplets of water felt they needed to vacate my eyes but then I realized it’s because of love. Love makes me cry good or bad, in my life mostly bad but eh! Then I wondered, when your 30 and have no kids, no partner, is there something missing, is love missing, are you complete?  We're raised to believe that the perfect life includes a loving husband, at least 3 kids screaming their heads off and of course the white picket fence. You as a single often feel left out, like married/engaged folks  or just coupled, are in a different society. It almost makes singles feel like their life is just boring, selfish and unfulfilled. You ever go to a housewarming full of married couples and you're the only single person there? And how the wives or husbands look at you like prey? They are almost so surprised to see that someone doesn’t have an attachment in the form of a partner. They ask, so your here by yourself? Duh. Any kids yet? Nope. Are you gay? Nah, but what does that have to do with anything! I am always baffled at how coupled folks behave around singles. Some are straight judgemental, confused, but a vast majority treat us like humans and not chicken poxs. Love comes from any and everything, not just having a ball and chain or little people who you help create. Writing this I wonder, can couples and singles truly be friends? Can we be on the same playing field? Is there one group that is more superior? Singles? Or Coupled?

30 is the pivotal again one starts thinking about having kids and settling down. I often wonder will that happen for me. Will my prince charming come? Is a child in the cards for the old girl! I’d be a liar if I do not stay social media make me sad sometimes. Well, you see all these happy couples or singles with their gorgeous gifts (children), and wonder, I wish, One day, I hope so…. I always snap out of it of course, immediately or it takes a while. Universe, God whomever you believe in has a time for you, is what people always say. But I ask, how do you know?
