Being Your Own Best Friend
Question, Have you ever taken yourself out for a drink, maybe even watched a movie just by yourself or even taken a troll in the park?
If you haven't well you're not alone. A lot of folks including myself live in a world where we aim to please others and forget about the one relationship that is most important YOU!
Girl, just like that romantic date on the beach with your beau, or that night out with the girls where you got all dolled for god knows what (hmmmm you know). It is equally important to do that with just yourself. This improves your self-esteem, refreshes your mind which all around improves your personal and professional existance.
Being realistic tho, majority of us feel to insecure to this simple act. Most of us feel embarassed sitting by ourselves.
My mom is such an advocate of this movement. She says when she has lunch by herself or go to a movie on her lonesome, she feels so liberated, relaxed, she got a lot done. With a house full of kids and a husband, having a day to be alone gives her some clarity.
Do me a favor, this week schedule a day. A day where you take off your sweats, wash that crust from your eyes and get fancy! Take yourself on a real date and enjoy! Do not feel the pressure to spend a lot of money if you do not have it.
Lunch, Museum, Beach, Spa, Gym, Open Mic, Smorgasburg (food truck festival, their great!). It doesn't matter just do it! Supermarkets are a no go!
Good Luck! Let me know how it goes.
